The Skicircus Saalbach Hinterglemm Leogang Fieberbrunn offers 270 kilometres of pistes, 70 ski lifts
and more than 60 alpine lodges for the whole family. Besides the pistes in the categories blue (easy),
red (medium) and black (difficult), numerous beginner pistes in Saalbach ensure maximum skiing
enjoyment with something for all levels. In this blog post we present some of the most popular

Beginner-friendly skiing area – the 10 best family-friendly pistes
The pistes around the Thurnerhof are divided into different categories with those marked blue for
beginners. 140 kilometres of pistes are designated as being “easy” and ensure varied skiing fun for
beginners, families and anyone who hasn’t skied for some time.

The following beginner pistes in Saalbach are also perfect for the first descents in the snow due to the
perfect terrain:

  • Turmwiese in Saalbach – with view of Saalbach centre
  • Practice lifts in Hinterglemm – with beginner-friendly lifts
  • The upper section of the Bernkogel – descent back to the valley possible by gondola lift
  • “Mulden” descent on the Schattberg (piste no. 4) – with stunning view of Saalbach during
  • ascent
  • Pistes by the Rosswald x6 lift – option of taking the Hochalmbahn gondola lift into the valley
  • Wieshof lift – short slope for first skiing attempts

A piste map is available in printed form as a map at the Thurnerhof as well as from the local tourist
office and ski lifts. If you would like to find out information in advance there is also an app for
smartphones and an interactive piste map. Both display the open and closed pistes as well as
information on all open lifts. Perfect for anyone visiting this large skiing area for the first time.
