Adventures on the mountain

Various themed paths, playgrounds and outdoor facilities make a trip to the surrounding mountains unforgettable. The attractions are divides into different age-appropriate offer brackets, promising both unique paying experiences and divine views across the entire valley.

On the Kohlmais

• Montelino’s adventure trail: Clown Montelino has lost his smile and needs the help of clever children! Exciting puzzles and riddles await along the trail, with a pure walking time of 90 minutes. 
• Game-feeding: Every day between 10 and 11am, Clown Montelino invites you to the game enclosure above the Panorama Alm mountain restaurant, where you can watch the deer being fed.
• Water playground: The brand new water playground on the clover meadow invites you to splash around and cool-off. Farm animals are also out and about on the alp. 

On the Schattberg

• The summit playground: At the Schattberg X-press mountain station, there is a lot of playground equipment, but also cosy hammocks for sunbathing and relaxing. After the long ride on the cable car, the children can let-off steam here, too.   

On the Reiterkogel

• Kodok Mountain (“Berg Kodok”): Fun and games with brand new adventures are promised by the all-new Kodok experience. Eleven exciting activity and puzzle stations are already waiting. 
• Medicinal Herb Trail (“Heilkräuterweg”): Saalbach Hinterglemm is home to beautiful flora and fauna. On this hiking trail, children and adults learn about the more than 80 local plants.
• Forest Wellness Area: From the Reiterkogel cable car Valley Station, it is a quick ride up to 1700 metres above sea level. The more than 200-year-old forest, with its 1000 spruces, promises relaxation and a sense of well-being – a lovely experience, even for the little ones!

 

• On the Zwölferkogel

• “Home Roots Circular Trail” (“Heimat-Rundweg”): How the once poor mountain farming village of Saalbach Hinterglemm developed into a world famous tourist resort is revealed by this half-hour themed trail with interesting facts about the Glemmtal.
• The Summit Playground: This action-packed playground, with a magnificent panoramic view, is always worth a visit. Here, little climbers can show what they are made of. 
• Slackline Parcours: To have good balance is never wrong. Various slacklines for beginners and the more advanced are waiting at the middle station of the Zwölferkogel cable car. 

Fairy tale fun and offers in nature

The lovingly-crafted area blends in perfectly with the natural surroundings. Native woods and child-friendly concepts ensure unforgettable experiences in an authentic atmosphere. Around the Hotel Thurnerhof there are, amongst others, such natural play and fun places:

• Fairy tale Forest (Märchenwald): A real Saalbach classic has been enchanting young and old since 1986. At the push of a button, the stations tell of great legends and fairy tales.
• Learn-to-Ride Park: Mountain bike beginners conquer the exciting trails at the middle and top stations of the Kohlmais. Little Hacklberg, Little Pro-Line, Drop Area, Little Panorama and Little Monti introduce riders to the MTB sport.   
• Wildlife Trail: The nature trail at the end of the valley introduces you to the animals of the Glemmtal. Various stations reveal exciting facts about the region’s inhabitants. With a bit of luck, you might even spot one or the other animal!
• Adventures at the valley end area in Hinterglemm include Europe’s largest high-rope park, the Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps, the tree-top trail (“Baumzipfelweg”), Devil’s Water water play stations (“Teufelswasser”), Schnitzas Holzpark wood play stations, Mega Flying Fox XXL, Jump & Slide Park

Having fun together – other activities in Saalbach

• Family Park: This leisure facility in Hinterglemm is perfect for relaxing and unwinding and even has its own Kneipp facility. The go-kart track and playground equipment ensure the necessary variety.
• Motorikweg (Motor-skills trail): Balance and dexterity are put to the test at 24 stations along the Saalach promenade. The creative challenges are also fun for the grown-ups. 
• Mini-Golf Courses: Fun courses await you at the Tourism Service Centre in Saalbach and at the Family Park in Hinterglemm. Clubs and balls can be rented on-site for a fee. 
• Käpt’n Hook Adventure Pool: Action and cooling-off are at home in a 1000 m² water area. This big outdoor pool also has a white-water canal, a water spout, massage jets and a water-slide. There is a panorama restaurant on the deck of the ship. 
• Children’s Hiking Challenge:  Six themed trails, one challenge – equipped with a punch-pass, young and old tackle the education hiking trail, the tree-top trail, Fairy tale Forest and the motor skills trail, as well as the summit triumph trails (“Gipfelsiegpfade”) on the Zwölferkogel and Schattberg
